A Meta-Analysis on Antecedents and Outcomes of Detachment from Work

Johannes Wendsche · Andrea Lohmann-Haislah
Frontiers in Psychology · 2017

What the research tells us

Detachment was, on average, associated with less fatigue and better self-reported sleep and well-being. Average associations with physiological stress indicators were not significant.

What to keep in mind

Associations do not establish causality. Findings across outcomes cannot be collapsed into one recovery score.
